We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on HelloPeter.
We always strive to serve all our clients well and regret reading of the difficulties you have encountered with your refund request.
Please note that Stop Order collections take about two months to start/change or stop, due to closing dates for compiling of magnetic tapes that are sent to employers to collect premiums from their employees' salaries and and of course also closing dates at the employer's end for implementation on their next salary run.
Then, we don't receive the premiums from the employer on your pay date:
- We only later receive one bulk payment for all their employees with Metropolitan Policies and a payment schedule confirming which deductions were included int he bulk payment and which amount was paid over for which policy.
- We then have to reconcile the payment with the payment schedule before we can distribute and allocate each policy's premium to each clients policy appearing on the payment schedule.
If the premium was not yet balanced onto your policy when you claim your refund, we have to ask for your salary statement so that we can send it to our premium management devision to confirm that the deduction on your salary statement also reflects on your employers payment schedule, so that we can refund you before our reconciliation and allocation of premium processes has been finalised.
We apologise if the reason we requested your salary statement was not explained to you , leading you to think we don't believe what you say. That was truly not our intention.
Thie above being explained/said, one of our Escalation Specialists will investigate the complaint and revert back to you as soon as possible.
Regards
Metropolitan Client Care Team
