Morning Bus 82, Driver: Patrick, The Inconsistent and *********** Driver from Metrobus

Can someone <br />please provide me with a valid e-mail address?</p> <p>Firstly I would like for a manager to contact me that this will be <br />handled and I need feedback please.</p> <p>I have decided to report a bus driver who has numerous issues which has<br />to be addressed by his employer, Metrobus. His name is Patrick, and he<br />always drives the 82 bus and I use the bus stop at the corner of Long<br />Avenue and Oxford Street at 5:45AM Monday to Friday.</p> <p><br />Non arrival:<br />--------------<br />Patrick almost never arrives for his shift, last week 13-17 February<br />2017 he didn't arrive the entire week except Thursday, but he skipped my<br />bus stop (I know this because a friend of mind told me later that he got<br />picked up by Patrick at 6AM at a bus stop further down the line).</p> <p>This week (20-24 February 2017) he didn't come the entire week. Once<br />again he skips my bus stop.</p> <p><br />The people he leaves behind:<br />----------------------------------<br />At my bus stop, there are 5 school children, 5 adults including me, and<br />halfway down Long Avenue there are some more adults, and at the end near<br />Hill Street there are more adults, senior citizens and some more school<br />children.</p> <p><br />Alternate Bus:<br />-----------------<br />We all have to use the later bus at 6:30AM due to Patrick not coming,<br />and that later bus is overflowing with standing passengers, there is not<br />enough room.</p> <p><br />Existing troublemaker history:<br />------------------------------------<br />I have no way to verify this, but it was said that he was moved from his <br />initial Cresta route to the Randburg route, due to complaints in the past.</p> <p><br />Disregard for safety:<br />------------------------<br />Patrick starts driving off when my left foot is on the ground, and my<br />right foot on the step of the bus, I nearly fell off and had to shout t<br />him. How can he start driving when I haven't even climbed on completely?<br />He even closes the door while people are standing in the doorway, the<br />door closed around my arms and legs.<br />This is serious.</p> <p><br />Reckless driving:<br />---------------------<br />Patrick just loves to bump other cars and Taxis, he jerks the bus with<br />violent motions and really speeds, way faster than 60KM/ph. He goes very<br />fast around the corners and drives over the pavement, sometimes almost<br />hitting pedestrians. I wonder if someone complained about it.</p> <p><br />Altercation with other drivers:<br />------------------------------------<br />He loves to fight with taxi drivers. I remember him getting out of the<br />bus and almost physically assaulting a taxi driver, later a couple of<br />taxis showed up, there was a big bunch of shouting going on, I heard the<br />taxi driver threatening to **** Patrick, and making a movement with his<br />finger as if to signal he will cut Patrick's throat.</p> <p><br />Fighting with customers:<br />------------------------------<br />He often fights with us, telling us we don't respect him and must not<br />speak rudely to him. But we are fed-up and angry he always gets away<br />with everything he does, there is no justification for what he does and<br />nobody punishes him.</p> <p><br />Speeds off:<br />-------------<br />I have watched him speeding off and he is doing it while he looks in his<br />left mirror at people trying to climb onto the bus and to stop him, we<br />often shout at him that he must not leave the children behind. If he<br />knows someone is running to the bus and he is looking at them why in<br />heavens is he speeding up?</p> <p><br />Attitude:<br />----------<br />He tells the passengers that he doesn't like his job. When we try to<br />speak to him, he turns his head away and refuses to speak to us, and<br />even look at us. We try to get his phone number to phone him to ask him<br />if he will come to work or whether we should arrange transport ourselves<br />and he answers"If u see the bus u see it, and if you don't then you don't."</p> <p>He is shaming Metrobus, bringing your company into disrepute.</p> <p><br />The suggestion:<br />------------------<br />Fire him. I am keeping this e-mail and I will re-send this every time he<br />doesn't come, how can he not do his job? He cannot just change his route<br />and skip bus stops because he feels like it, and not come to work,<br />please investigate his staying away from shifts too. Replace him if you<br />can, there are others who really want jobs. Shift him around in your<br />company so that he will be a problem somewhere else if you can't fire<br />him due to a Union protecting him.</p> <p>If you guys want proof, I will give you proof.</p> <p>I see that this will become a long mail.</p> <p>I am going to ask that others phone the call centre and complain, there<br />is another avenue for you to investigate. He is robbing Metrobus of<br />revenue, customers and your image. You have the power to stop that.</p> <p>If nothing is done and if I receive no feedback I will have no choice<br />but to send this whole e-mail to Hello Peter and maybe to the Star or<br />Daily sun newspaper.</p> <p>Please keep me anonymous since people fear him, they say he is part of<br />the E.F.F. movement and he will get violent.</p> <p>Regards</p> <p> </p>
