Formal Investigation Requested Following JMPD Incident Involving Our Company Vehicle

Oil Savers (Pty) Ltd has lodged a formal complaint regarding an incident involving one of our company vehicles on Friday, 4 September 2026.

During the traffic stop, our employees reported a concerning request for R300. Our employees did not make any unofficial payment, as our company policy is that any traffic matter must be handled through the lawful process.

Because the allegation has not yet been independently investigated, we are intentionally not identifying the individual involved publicly or making any allegation of wrongdoing as an established fact. Those details have instead been supp**** confidentially to the appropriate authorities for investigation.

During the incident, concerns were also raised regarding the vehicle's handbrake/parking brake and its licence discs were removed.

Our concern is that the vehicle had previously passed a roadworthy test on 29 July 2026.

We consequently stopped operating the vehicle and had to cancel or reschedule business that had already been arranged.

When attempting to resolve the issue on 7 September 2026, we encountered an Administration Mark 02 – “Fictitious Record” on eNaTIS.

Further testing and administration followed, resulting in additional expense and another interruption to our business.

On 8 September 2026, the vehicle underwent the required testing process and passed.

We therefore believe the circumstances warrant an independent and proper investigation.

We are asking the relevant authorities to establish exactly what occurred during the original stop, investigate the reported R300 request, confirm the lawful and procedural basis for the action taken regarding the vehicle, and clarify the circumstances surrounding the eNaTIS issue.

Oil Savers supports road safety and lawful traffic enforcement.

We are simply requesting accountability, transparency and a fair investigation based on the evidence.

We have supporting documentation and will cooperate fully with the authorities.

We would appreciate a formal response and reference number so that this matter can be followed through to conclusion.
