Disabled passenger.....rightless
Hello Peter, please help. I'm a paraplegic and was given a lift to King Shaka airport. The vehicle had a handicapped sticker displayed on front windscreen. The driver had parked in the disabled parking and wheeled my wheelchair into airport building. On his return to vehicle finds a R1000 fine. I have since called Metro police Chatsworth who asked me to contact Metro police in a court. I called Metro at Durban who says that the fine would need to be paid seeing that the driver is not disabled and vehicle is not modified for a disabled person. How am I the handicapped person expected to go into the airport building without the drivers assistance. Are disabled passengers not allowed using disabled parking bays.
