No Customer Service Whatsoever!

If your brand is linked to some product or service that is offered by independent contractors, it seems to me that there should be some form of service level agreement and accountability for the use or misuse of your brand. Metermate has contractors who install electricity meters that are branded with this company's name, but doesn't seem to have any kind of control or say over how these contractors misrepresent its brand. I've been sitting with a blank meter for days now - for the third time in so many months - while waiting for a contractor named Gregory, who installed it, to come and sort out the problem. Apparently, these contractors can basically hold you to ransom because they have all the rights to some installer's code that cannot be shared with other more efficient service providers. How does all this help the clients when they are faced with an inefficient service provider who just doesn't seem to care about the precarious situation in which they are putting paying clients?
