Balustrade installer charlatan

Linley Oostendorp is the owner of Metallica Manufacturing and is a complete **** and *****. He was contracted to install balustrades on my property. He requested a high deposit and then took two months to eventually start the job. He drilled holes incorrectly into the stanchions which means that the wire cables would all be skew. I would have had non parallel wires running along the length of the balustrade. The wire he bought was for winching boats and not for balustrades and were already fraying before installation. The most frustrating part was the constant lying. When he didn't arrive at work I phoned/Whatsapp him and he always had a different excuse. The Whatsapp history shows the communication for a period of over four months where I increasingly became more frustrated and his lies became worse.

After numerous attempts for him to rectify the problems he just stopped communication altogether. I had to contract another balustrade installer who had to start all over again. The R55 000 that I paid Linley has not been recovered as I have nothing to show for it due to all materials having to be replaced due to shoddy workmanship. I traced his Facebook account during this period and found that he had a 50th birthday party.......no doubt with the money I had paid him for work not done. He moaned that he didn't have money for stainless steel or wires after I had already paid him a large deposit of R55 000. I now know that he spent it on himself. I have laid a charge of ***** at the Milnerton police station which will eventually end up in court. I recommend to NEVER contact him for any form of work.
