Meta refuses refund of R2,695.51 despite confirming no advertising services were provided I have been using Meta’s advertising services since 2019 and have used the platform for paid advertising campaigns over a number of years. On 31 July 2026, I prepaid R2,700.00 into my Meta advertising account (ID: ***) to run campaigns for two clients. Before any campaign launched, Meta disabled the advertising account. I therefore requested a refund of the unused funds. After approximately one week of correspondence, a Meta Support representative provided me with a written formal investigation summary following a forensic audit of the account. Meta’s own investigation confirmed: “A forensic audit of the account’s campaign history confirms that no advertising services were rendered using the funds from this specific transaction. There are zero ad campaigns, impressions, or clicks associated with these funds…” Meta also confirmed that R2,695.51 remains as an unused “Available Fund” within the advertising account wallet. In other words, Meta has confirmed in writing that the funds were not used to provide advertising services. Despite this, Meta has refused to process the refund. I was told that an internal security flag is preventing Meta’s refund system from processing the transaction. There is another problem: according to Meta’s own support chatbot, I am not eligible to speak to a human consultant about the matter. So despite having used Meta’s advertising services since 2019, I am currently unable to speak to a human representative while trying to recover funds that Meta itself has confirmed were never used. I have already spent approximately a week attempting to resolve this through Meta Support. I also approached my bank, and the matter was escalated to its ***** department, but the bank was unable to recover the funds directly from Meta. My concern is straightforward: Meta has confirmed that R2,695.51 remains unused and that no advertising services were rendered using those funds, yet the funds are still being retained. At the same time, Meta’s automated support system says I am not eligible to speak to a human consultant. I have the complete Meta Support transcript, including the written forensic investigation summary and the chatbot response regarding human support. I am posting this publicly in the hope that Meta will escalate the matter to someone who can actually resolve it. I am simply requesting the return of the unused funds that Meta itself has confirmed were never used for advertising.
