Unhappy with Merrell footwear

In 2013 I purchased a pair of Merrell footwear at LA Footgear in Century City, Canal Walk. I chose Merrell because I heard positive stories about the product. Indeed, the salesperson at the store told me, I'm buying a product that will last for 10 years. So I made the purchase without any reservations. Now 5 years later, the footwear is breaking. I really did not expect for the amount paid the product would be of such a poor quality. I've made contact with customer care, and Jaco Jordaan eagerly pointed out the product carries a 6 month warranty and proof of purchase is also required. Five years later, reaally. I accept I am outside the 6 month period and I do not have proof of purchase. But I feel disappointed to have spent my hard earned money on such a poor quality product. I strongly discourage anyone considering purchasing Merrell footwear. ''When you're in the middle of nature, anything is possible. It's more than a trail, a river or a mountain. It's an invitation to embrace the moment, So, do what's natural.'' Whatever you do don't wear Merrell's.
