Merrell poor quality of manufactured shoes!

I bought a pair of Merrell hiking shoes at a cost of R1900.00. I was assured that it is very robust and tough. The shoes were only worn to work and no training, running or hiking done with the shoes. Shoes were worn to office and back and both shoes tore at the same spot.

It is a clear manufacturing defect and I have since spoken to friends that have had the same problems with their shoes.

This unacceptable and I am in process of logging it with the Ombudsman as well. You can't pay that amount of money for supposedly tough and durable hiking shoes, and have them break down within a few months when it is only worn to work and back. I will exhaust every avenue available to me until I am compensated!!!
