Boots complaint

My fiance bought the Merrell Iceclaw boots a while ago and have not worn them many times. A few days ago he noted that the stitching between the upper and the sole is pulling loose and a large gash has also appeared on the upper of the one shoe. These shoes have not been worn much and have not been exposed to any conditions even close to what they were made for. Please advise where I can send pictures to and what the way forward is.
