Handed over to lawyers for spectacles i dont have

I have been using Merlins optical at Bayside tableview for a number of years.I visited them in 2013 for a new set of spectacles.They did a quotation for me and I said I would pay on collection.next day I called in the morning to cancel and the girl at the reception confirmed it was cancelled.2 years later,I started receiving calls from lawyers representing Merlins that I have been handed over because I did not collect the glasses which left me baffled.How can I be handed over for spectacles that I don't have?last week I received a letter from the lawyers threatening to take me to court if I don't pay for the glasses?I went to Merlins bayside only to find it temporarily closed for a while.what I don't understand is how can I be handed over to lawyers for spectacles I never collected which I called in to cancel the very next day.Dont you guys have recordings on your calls?
