Risk to rent and buy from Merlin Properties Kldp

We rented a house from Merlin Properties in Klerksdorp for an rental amount higher than market related but we were promised that this is a awesome house. Before we signed the contract we discussed some issues with the agent Kotie and she promised that the owner is not an untrustable person and that they will keep to their word. When we moved in we realised that just about nothing is in working order in the house. The stove and oven was not working at all and both the bathrooms showers did not work. Also the bath in the 2nd bathroom was cracked and couldnt be used so we were left with 1 bath only for 4 people. Eventually some of the issues were sorted out but after 32 days we were suddenly informed that the owner did not sign the contract because he is not satisfied after we were ensured that everything is in order. Now suddenly they go back on their word and the contract on which we thought were signed by both parties. When we disagreed we got a attorneys letter to say that WE are breaking the rules of the contract and we should leave the prop. I phoned the attorney offices numerous times and were told they cannot help me. The guy working with it refuses to call back. Be careful.
