DISGUSTING ATTITUDE!

In December my Fiance and I decided to take time out from family and work as we were newly engaged.

A woman named Sam that works at the Mercure hotel in Randburg assisted us checked us into a room and directed us to our room

We've had no problems using the hotel before. As we would book it over night

At about 7pm. We had someone knocking on the door trying to clean the room... when we opened the door the cleaner had told reception we hadn't checked out... we had a call from reception saying that our stay is over due and we would have to pay the penalty.. My fiance refused to do so because SAM had failed to tell us our check out time

We hurried over to reception to continue the debate as to not being told their of check out times.

Another lady at reception had a stinking attitude we asked for the manager. He had come out and listened to the issue...the lady at reception insisted that Sam told us the check out times when she was not even on duty!. We argued her point how could you know what Sam told us or didn't tell us if you weren't even at work!???.

Sam was called. And she is adamant that she told us. I don't know if she realized the major complication it's left her in with her not doing her job and the consequences she may face.

Sam then refers to me as a "magosha"(**********) over the phone in which the manager drops the call immediately. The reception lady at the desk had been disrespectful to the point where the manager had to drag her from the from desk to the back of the office.

I tried to get through to their manager who was on leave as this took place in December. I haven't gotten through to anyone with regards to this disgusting behavior from staff.. please do note the call that was made to Sam was done on speaker phone. And other guest quickly became aware of the situation and the name calling

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! It's a cheap hotel... but so is it's service
