Mercedez Northcliff DAMAGED MY CAR
On 8 February 2019 I took my Mercedes to Sandown Mercedes Northcliff for service.
As is customary with them, they inspected the car for any faults/scratches before they booked it in, I signed the check-in form & left the car with them. The car flap was not included as damaged or faulty on this check-in form, because there was nothing wrong with it when I left the car for service
On 8 February 2019 after fetching my car, my petrol flap was broken, when it was working perfectly when I gave the car to Mercedes for service.
When I made Mercedes aware of this, & asked them to fix it, they denied liability, & informed me the flap would have fallen off a few metres after fetching it from them.
I took Mr Dirk van Niekerk, the workshop manager, to the garage where I poured petrol after leaving Mercedes, to test if the flap would fall off. The flap stayed intact to the garage & back to Mercedes to disprove their denial of liability.
This is not the 1st time Sandown Mercedes Northcliff had damaged my car. During December 2018 Mr Dirk van Niekerk left my car on the side of the road outside their premises where their subcontractor was cutting bricks with a cutting machine next to my car. The car surface was badly damaged by this subcontractor. Mercedes Northcliff initially undertook to take the car to Renew-It to be fixed however reneged on this undertaking when I asked them to fix it.
