Useless MB Roadside Assistance - What a joke
I am reluctant to narrate this, but we have had very poor response from MB roadside assistance on two occasions on a MB GLC now, leading to the conclusion that its just a sales gimmick with no real substance: a. Over the December 2021 New Year period, we had a tree fall on our windscreen/bonnet & couldn't continue our journey. MB was kind enough to tell us that as it was over a pubic holiday period, they could only assist us once work resumed period (i.e. three days) passed. In the meantime they couldn't give a sh..t what happened to us. (Of course, the MB website states that "In the event of a technical breakdown or starting problems en route, Mercedes-Benz Service24h is there to help you. Our Customer Assistance Centre ***will respond to your call and arrange for rapid, professional assistance." Rapid and professional indeed! Three days to come and help us? Needless to say we helped ourselves and haven't heard from MB since. 2. On the 19th of September we had a tyre blowout (cut sidewall) & MB roadside assist noted they could send a low-bed the next day to pick up the car. The next day!? And where were we to go in the meantime, stranded? Needless to say we again organised our own "rescue" at our own cost.
As we spoke to the MB assistance operators on both occasions via the SOS button built into the car, I am sure all this is on record and easy to find.
So, for all you future Merc owners & current ones not yet having had the pleasure of using MB "24" roadside assist - don't fool yourself and think you get any sort of service from MB if you are in deep trouble, its just a sales gimmick. (And ***** if one takes their website "promises" on face value)
