Uneventful experience with my W204 Mercedes 220 cdi
Firstly the first contact with Mercedes on the web they said they are going to contact me which never happened. Secondly my son talked to one of the woman working at the truck department in which she let one of Mercedes technician contact me. His name is Malcolm du Preez. I told him what happened. He rep**** to me he had 3 incidents of the same model Mercedes previously and that mine is the fourth incident only he encountered so far. I asked him why Mercedes did not come back about this incident and he couldn't answer me.
Second time I contacted Mercedes via the web and that is when DuaneSheppard mailed me and said a Mercedes technician will contact me. Which did not happen. Today its more than two weeks.
Now I'm going to tell you my side what happened. In January I bought this Mercedes privately due I am a big Mercedes fan. I sold my Toyota Fortuner to buy this Mercedes According to the seller the Mercedes was serviced which he indicated on the Merc's computer. This guy relocated to Australia that why he sold it Ok I bought it and was happy. It had a 139 000 km on the clock. Me and my wife went on holiday to the Cape for 2 weeks and was happy with the Mercedes performance I still drove it till April 14 very happy and went to Pretoria to fetch my grandchildren to come and visit us. On return right at the squatter camp 10pm on the N4 the incident took place leaving us in a very vulnerabel area. The engine just blew out smoke over revving no idea what happened. My son came and help us. It had 147 000km
I'm a pensioner and can't afford much and got a Mechanic to check my Mercedes in which he told me it was the turbo. He replaced it but at the end it wan't the turbo.
That at the later stage Malcolm told me what happened and that it was the 4th Mercedes the same model as mine that it he encountered happened. Now this is a big disappointment for me for this my pension Merc. Why did mercedes not come back to this problem???
