Uncaring Mercedes Benz

So I took my 1 year old car for service, which is just over 14000kms for service. This is car I hardly drive and hence the mileage is low. In the afternoon I get a call from my service consultant and I am told that the warranty has been cancelled because the car was 110 days overdue. The warranty is cancelled with no option to renew. This is the first service and I’ve never been told of such a rule. And for a car that is seldom driven. Couldn’t the same memo that has gone to the dealerships be the same memo we as their clients receive ?
