SAD approach
I had my vehicle (Smart Roadster) towed into Mercedes-Benz Menlyn on the 08/03/16 at about 11:30am for a key coding. I was initially impressed with the service representatives however, at 17:00 i had not been informed of the state of my car and when i called in to request information i was informed (rather rudely at first,) that it could take up to 2 days for my car to be seen to. The next communication i received was a phone call from the service supervisor saying that the key doesn't work (i know, that's why i brought it in!) and it would be R7 000 for two new keys and coding, also would have to wait for stock from Germany. After much to-and-fro it was established that a new SAM unit would be required now as well at R10 000. Eventually i had enough and fetched the car myself and towed it, during the tow i attempted to adjust my mirror and to my horror it was BROKEN! on the way i stopped at my mechanic and got the key coded( 5 min). i called Merc the next day only to be told that it was not their responsibility and they only tried coding the key, i don't know why my glove compartment was unlocked and a card -wallet ****** from it then?
