********** .. my tyres are worn out 6 months with me taking delivery of my car

Hope that this email finds you well.

It is with a very sore heart that I write this e-mail given the turn of events and the service I have received from your dealership.

I purchased my vehicle from your dealership and took ownership of the Vehicle end of March 2017. The delivery of the vehicle was nothing to ride home about and I let that slid as the guy who sold me the car was leaving your dealership on that day and it was just a rush job. I inspected the car with the FM and we found dents which were meant to be fixed, so I had to bring the car back. No stress.

In all this , we found the car had stone chips and Rishaad said to me, as soon as they get the correct paint, someone will get in contact with me, fastward to last Friday the 11th August, I am there pick up my car for service and only then do both these guys remember they needed to follow up.

That not been a major issue, I let it go, cause I figured the aftersales service at your dealership is way beyond what one should expect. What really left me highly perturbed is , yesterday morning, one of my rear tyres then burst. I call roadside assistance and right after that they guy tell me that I should take my cat back to the dealership as the tyre on my car is finished and its not possible that one tyre can be this worn out. ( bearing in mind I took delivery in March) be that as it May, I do just that.

The service I received from your Aftersales Manager today was beyond shocking, and the explanation that he gave me was hogwash. He saw that the tyre was beyond finished and then the story I got was that the mileage on the car was the reasoning why my tyres had worn out ( I am not a first time driver nor a school child to accept this explanation)

I then went to the workshop where I was assisted greatly by Charmaine who came with her Foreman and they examined the tyre and the foreman said its not possible that the tyre can be finished due to mileage but the other 3 are fine.

I then had another manager, ( Tinus ) I think. Who after speaking to Rishaad came to check the tyre only to tell me that the tyre is worn out due to plugs in the tyre. I explained to him that I have never gotten these tyres fixed and I wouldn’t waste my time following up with Merc if I knew that the tyres were problematic.

To say I am angry is not even a way to describe , as I have been receiving sub- standard service from your dealership and I didn’t want to make a fuss, but this one I cant let go. My thoughts are that these tyres were not changes prior to the car being sold to me, and now the Manager is shifting blame.

I cannot drive a car for 20k km and **** the tyres? I ask that you kindly look into this matter, look how many times my car has come back to your dealership due to shody workmanship and let me know if this warrants me to just let this issue go?

I honestly feel that I was very short changed when it comes to this tyre situation and I cannot even begin to take the reasoning from your Aftersales Manager, who then treats me like I am a nuisance, because clearly corners were cut when it came to the whole delivery of this car.

Hi Carol Thank you for the mail, Dalene needed to rush to a last minute meeting & has discussed the details with me prior. You have purchased the vehicle with 29,000km on the clock and therefore the tyres would not have been new at the time of purchase. Further to this, you have driven almost 20,000 km further and surely it is now time to replace them, especially the back tyres, as the vehicle is a rear wheel drive with more friction on the back wheels and therefore I am of the opinion that it is time for the rear tyres to be replaced at this stage. I also spoke to Tinus Ackermann who has inspected the tyres and confirm that both the rear tyres were worn and that the front tyres were still in a fairly good condition. Tinus also confirmed that he has showed you a previous repaired and found a nail and wire in the tyres. I trust that you will find this in order. Rishaad Abdul.
