A Serpentine Belt was bought from Mercedes-Benz for my ML500 in November and the Vehicle was not used more than 500 Kms and this Agent Serpentine Belt which still has the Clear writing Mercedes-Benz on it and the Part Number which still looks brand new Shredded whilst running and the Shredded Rubber damaged the Top Cover, Vacuum Valve Soft and Hard Pipes and made me get Stuck. I have Emailed Mercedes-Benz to come and pick up the Serpentine Belt to have it inspected and they refused. Fortunately I was not in a remote area when I got stuck and kept the Old Belt as a Sample which I put on myself and is still running perfectly on the Vehicle. The Old Belt was a Continental make and I asked my Mechanic to get all Mercedes-Benz Parts. This Belt is obviously of inferior Quality and I would like Mercedes-Benz to inspect this Belt and advise how it could Shred so quickly and then Damage other Parts. It could have also got me and my Family stuck in some remote area and who would have known what the outcome would then be. Upon Emailing them, They point blank refused to even inspect the belt and not even replace it although it only costs a few hundred rands. I do not expect this terrible service from Mercedes-Benz and would like to know what make Belt they sold to me and if it was a genuine part of not.
