Poor workmanship and refusal to take responsibility after engine replacement

Title: Poor workmanship and refusal to take responsibility after engine replacement

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Mercedes-Benz South Africa and the dealership involved in my engine replacement.

My vehicle underwent a warranty engine replacement. After the vehicle was returned to me, I later discovered a transmission oil leak. Instead of properly addressing the possibility that this issue may be linked to the work carried out during the engine replacement, I have been met with responses stating that there was no leak observed at the time of repair.

What is most concerning is that this does not address the actual issue — whether the leak developed as a result of the removal and reinstallation of major drivetrain components during the repair process.

In addition, I previously raised concerns and provided images showing missing bolts on the undercarriage of the vehicle after the repair. This raises serious questions about the quality of workmanship and final inspection before the vehicle was returned to me.

Despite these concerns, I feel I am being pushed towards taking responsibility for repair costs that may be linked to workmanship issues, rather than receiving proper accountability and investigation from Mercedes-Benz.

A customer should not have to question whether critical components such as the transmission and underbody assembly were correctly refitted after a major engine replacement.

I am requesting proper technical investigation and accountability instead of being dismissed or pressured into paying for issues that may have originated from the repair work itself.

Based on this experience, I am deeply dissatisfied with the handling of my case.
