Pathetic service MERCEDES BENZ SOUTH AFRICA
Hi, I would like to raise a concern about my Mercedes I bought almost 2 years ago from auto excellence car dealer. The car was under full guarantee. Two weeks later the engine light came on whilst visiting our kids in Pretoria. I notified Mercedes Gariep dealers in Kimberley and went to the nearest Mercedes garage for where the car was regenerated. was said to take it back to Gariep motors for check-ups only found out that this car had this engine light problem from its previous owner whom I phoned and was explained how many problems he had with this car. He then sold the car after it was so-called repaired by Gariep motors. The previous owner bought this car new with this problem. I took the car in as was instructed by Gariep. To make the story shorter the car was at Gariep motors for almost eight months out of one year. This was unacceptable, I phoned Mercedes SA for help to my disappoint not of much help. The manager told me the second-hand car dealer will get me another car and do a changeover. I spoke many times with the manager only to realize that someone was bush lying. The manager sent a message to me that my new car was on its way. Few days later I went there only to be told by the manager himself Mr l Vermeulen that he was lying and that he was sorry but his second-hand dealer Jaco will sort it out. I am still waiting for phone calls from them. I went to the Ombudsman and followed instructions witch I had to phone many times to find out the progress made. They notified me to make contact again with Mercedes SA because they don’t get any reply from Gariep motors. Phoned again and followed instructions as all the other times I must wait they will come back to me. December the eighteenth the service relations manager Phumzile Malebe phoned me and we discussed the matter and her words was that this matter should have been solved from the start and she will take this matter further and will let me know. She sent me an email. Well I am still waiting for any reply. I then again phoned Mercedes SA to find out what was going on. The person told me that the case was closed. Now on what grounds. Not one person can tell me why. I emailed miss Malebe but of no use. FOR SEVEN YEARS NOT one person can solve this problem. It is costing Mercedes Benz more than eight hundred thousand rand to try and repair the engine light problem. This is the most embarrassing, unacceptable and the standard of very low class. I am very disappointed also of the low standard and the competency of Mercedes SA. I hope someone in the top position will read this.
