Mercedes treats their clients as invaders.
Went to purchase air filter for my Mercedes C 200. Nearest agent Constantia Kloof. On arrival waiting for security guard, who eventually asked for which department. He scanned my license disc and asked to scan my drivers licence. Finally I parked and walked to the spares department. In front is a desk where I have to fill in my name, surname, phone number and measured temperature. I entered the room. There are three employees, no other customer. The radio is blaring and I am ignored. Few minutes later I am attended to and with my VIN No. ready. They search for my part. I asked to let me have the price, which he said was R 429. I thought it to be exorbitant and left. At the exit the boom was down and no one around. Suddenly the exit guard came and asked me to scan my drivers licence. I am sure all was done to "protect my privacy". I stopped at Midas. Got the identical part at the counter for R 382 with nobody "mining"my information.
