Mercedes South Africa - Sunroof time bomb

Yesterday the sunroof of my Mercedes 'exploded'! I couldn't believe it, I was driving in a quiet area, there was a bang and the sunroof was gone. I looked around for someone or something that might have caused this, but there was nothing. I went home - completely puzzled about what had just happened and so I searched Google and guess what - this is a real thing - Mercedes exploding sunroofs! Seeing all the news and a lawsuit in the US, I was fairly confident I could take the car in and Mercedes would admit to the problem. I was wrong - Mercedes South Africa with all the incidents are not taking responsibility. I am recording this here, so that when this happens to the next person and the consequences go beyond mine - then Mercedes South Africa will be forced to take responsibility.
