Mercedes GLA200 no spare tyre

I have had 2 x Mercedes GLA200’s before on Agility, both cars came with run flat tyres and no spare tyre. I understood limitations and advantages and was happy with this. However, even then the tyre models are performance tyres and so made of a softer compound rubber, so I experienced many nails in the tyres and had to replace at least two run flats as side wall punctures can’t be repaired... Last year, I bought my third Mercedes GLA200, as I had two before I didn’t even think twice that it would have run flats, because the GLA200 doesn’t come with a spare tyre!!! But surprise, surprise when I had a slow puncture due to nail in the sidewalk of the tyre a few weeks after getting it, and was at the tyre repair workshop I learnt that the tyres on the car were not run flats and that there is no spare tyre!!!! I want to know how a reputable company like Mercedes firstly, from a safety aspect could even consider selling a car without a spare tyre and then secondly feel okay about selling their customers a car without a spare in this country where it is not safe to be stranded at any stage... I am furious that they did not point this out to me when reviewing the specs!
