Mercedes Benz SA has the worst Customer Experience

I would like to state on record the utmost disappointment I have regarding the customer experience received from MB SA. MB has got no after sales support at all when it comes to the products they sell. I recently bought a GLC 250 (10 months ago) for my wife as a gift after leaving the BMW brand thinking that I should try another luxurious brand. This was the worst mistake of my life.

Firstly ever since owning this useless vehicle I have had nothing but trouble. Since taking ownership of this vehicle I have taken the car in more than 8 times for the same issue. If it's not the engine light going on constantly, its the filling up of AdBlue or the car loosing power while driving on the highway. When I took it in at MB East gate I was told that my wife should drive the car a bit fast in order for some component to operate efficiently. I though that was the most ludicrous explanation I have ever heard in my life.

Now recently the rear view mirror has been detached from the windscreen and I have to state that I have never replaced my windscreen in the last 6 months. I then booked in my vehicle at MB Centurion, thinking that my vehicle is covered by motor plan. I mean why would I buy such an expensive vehicle without a motor plan. When I got there I was told that any detachable components i.e. mirror, ashtray, faulty buttons whatever that is part of the internal components are not covered by motor, I would need to pay cash for those items just like my detached mirror. To replace that component that controls the mirror, I would have to par R!2k.

I found this to be such hogwash. Why would such an exclusive company selling such beautiful products not cover their vehicles for such items, it just makes no sense. MB should learn from BMW how to treat their customers. With BMW you feel like you're the only customer they have. Their customer experience is exceptional and after 10 months of owning this useless vehicle I am ready to burn it or leave it on the side of the road and forget about it. I will never purchase a MB ever again, this will be the only MB product I will ever own.

Just to make another comparison. My wife was driving from work and had a flat tyre. She called MB for assistance and she was told that in order for her to continue on her journey she will need to purchase a tyre from MB for R6800 then the MB breakdown will deliver and install the tyre. BMW on the other hand gives their customer a loan tyre so that they can continue on their journey then when you are ready to purchase a tyre you simply return the loan to them end of story. Now as a customer would you not want to associate yourself with such a brand.
