Mercedes Benz refusing me a paid service
I would just like to mention my absolute disappointment in Mercedes Benz. in April this year I bought a second hand Mercedes Benz BClass ********** model through a reputable seller imperial motors. (Honda West Rand) a brand I have waited 11 years to buy. The car did not have a spare key from the previous owner so Honda West Rand got a quote and paid the money to Mercedes Constantia to order a spare key for the car this was 2 months ago. When i went to order the key they required a certified copy of my: Car Papers which was given to them ID which was given to them and Drivers licence which was given to them. The problem come in where my ID in my married was ****** with my bag earlier this year and it and i cannot find my marriage certificate for the life of me, so i gave them a copy of my ID in which was in my ****en name. So to elaborate my ID is in my ****en name my drivers licence is in my married name my car papers is in my married name. i was called yesterday and was tole they refuse to make me a spare key because I do not have my marriage certificate. First of all My ID number on the the drivers licence ID and the car papers match up i would understand if this wasn't a factor. I have the original key for the car and just require a spare key,i even drove the car to the dealer to order the key and they also change my wind screen wipers for me when I ordered new ones. the car was not bought from a shady dealer they are registered and one of the biggest second car dealers in SA. Secondly you cannot refuse a paid service my papers are in order and my car papers were given to me in my married name even without the marriage certificate, though it had to be done with a commissioner of oath and a written statement,it was still done none the less. Mercedes seems to think they can treat people how they want and refuse honest service, yes its for security reason however do you honestly think that they would given me my drivers licence in my married name if I didn't have the correct papers to apply for it. if this complaint does not work I will take it to the consumer protection board,I have bought this car honestly and have a good track record of the sale. I cannot be treated like a ******** because i was a victim of crime. If there are any doubt about the car please let me know. Refunding the dealer isn't an option because it took 2 months to get them to agree on paying for the key and i will never get them to do it again. I am sure the CPA would agree.
