Mercedes-Benz Constantia Kloof customers and workshop service is absolute ****!
I got my wife a 2016-17 c200 amg almost a year ago. It’s been going great till for the first time on the 6th of June 2019 the car showed an engine managed light. I immediately called the dealership and I was referred to a service advisor who advised that I should bring the car the next day, which I did. Later on the 7th, I got a call from the service adviser saying that they are busy with loading the gearbox software and the car wouldn’t be ready on the day. Despite that I had planned a family trip to Durban for the weekend, I understood and they kept the car. Long story short, on the 10th I call and I’m told I can come get the car, I go to fetch it and when I get there, I’m told I can take the car and use it but there’s a part (exhaust flenge) needs to be replaced and they didn’t have in stock and had to order it.
I went to he dealership on Wednesday (the 12th) as I hadn’t received any feedback. I’m told the service advise is off and didn’t leave any instructions. The next day I call and he tells me he has the part and I should bring the car in on the 17th as Monday was a public holiday.
Took the car in, I receive a call in the afternoon, same story...you will not be getting the vehicle back today as we still need to 1 2 3.... I let them keep the car and on Wednesday I get a call that the car is ready and I go to the dealership to pickup the car, R34 000 later in parts and labour and IMMEDIATELY I can tell something is wrong. It now has a squicking sound that I didn’t go in with, so in essence the car now has more problems than it went in with. Not only that, the radio had to be replaced as it wasn’t playing cds and memory sticks anymore. BUT the radio fitted there is INCORRECT, it has less functionality than the one they took out and the workshop manager has the decency to tell me they are all like that....”I have been driving this car for a year...I think I know what I’m talking about!!!!”
Guess what? In exactly 24 hours from when I got the car back on Wednesday, it was back in their hands again yesterday. I couldn’t drop it off in the morning so I only was able to have the car checked yesterday afternoon. So, before I headed out to them, I called the dealership and spoke to Viky, who then said she will speak to the workshop manager and she will get back to me. He called and advised that I should bring the car in, I drove the car there and I was told to leave it with them....again!!!!! Over and above that I now have to organize my own transportation as there were no drivers to take me home...I mean really!!!!? What ever happened to costumer service? And they were non apologetic about it!
I probably will get the same story again, sorry, we are not done with the car and need to keep it as that seems to be the SLA (2 days minimum).MEANING...I will not have that car for yet another weekend!!!! So - there goes my plans. Really!?
This is causing an absolute frustration on my part as I use that car to work. Now I’m have to drop off my wife and go work and have to pick her up. It really is super frustrating and an absolute inconvenience.
Goes without saying...that is my 3rd but last Mercedes Benz!
