Mercedes Benz Constantia Kloof

My mother purchased an A-Class Sedan 2020 from the Mercedes Benz in Constantia Kloof. Within a few months, the car started developing issues with the computer/sensors, after about 9 months, the car had to go in for repairs. My mother has been without the car for nearly 3 months. During this time, she kept receiving notifications via the app, that the battery was in critical condition. Every time she received a notification, she would forward it to the consultant, but she would not receive a response, in fact, the only way she would receive feedback, was if she called the dealership.

After having gone back and forth, my mother wanted to cancel the contract or swap the car, Mercedes Benz insisted that they have the right to fix the car “to its original condition”. While the car was at the dealership, something else broke. It took weeks to get an explanation regarding the additional broken part, not one person at the dealership, wanted to take responsibility for the broken part and no one wanted to put any information in writing.

Today, my mother received a call TELLING HER that she can pick her car up soon, that it is apparently fixed HOWEVER, there is no longer a sunglass holder in it, so clearly the wrong part has been installed. While a sunglass holder is a small accessory that one would probably never use, it is a principal issue. After having the car for nearly 3 months, one would think that they would order the correct part for the car.

This has been extremely draining and stressful for my mother! This was meant to be her retirement car and it has been nothing but a terrible experience. The staff at the dealership and the person responsible for the complaint at head office are also great at wasting time!

I was planning on purchasing an A Class Hatch for myself but after this terrible experience, I will NEVER purchase a car from Mercedes Benz Constantia Kloof as there is no justification for the price you pay and the service and goods that you receive.
