Mercedes Benz bad experience downgrade to UNO level

We purchased a demo Mercedes vehicle at the century city branch. Upon collecting we picked up issues with the vehicle. Lamp, windscreen, wipers. They are all promised to be fixed but lamp and wipers were sorted except windscreen. However after taking and driving it we picked up that the is air that comes in between the windscreen and the dashboard with the sound as if a window is open. Gave it another week or so but the sound continued. We took it in at Midrand New Road Mercedes cause we based in Pretoria and century city works with them.

The car has been going back and forth from us to them with them failing to solve the issue. Worse they do admit that they can hear the same thing that we do. Recently I got an email indicating that Mercedes Benz South Africa says the matter is closed case all GLE are like that. If that’s the case then why doesn’t Mercedes Benz declare this to its customers that they have a problem with the cars. It means Mercedes is knowingly selling cars that have a defect.

I test drove the same car and I couldn’t hear the sound. The response sounded dismissive. The treatment is as if it’s not a luxury car but a uno. Mercedes behaves like we went to a random mechanic in tembisa.

It’s unbelievable how one of their luxury vehicles feels like a UNO but with higher price.
