Mercedes-Benz are a disgrace!
What a joke of a company!!! I own a GLC300 which was owned by a lady before i bought it with 96 000km on the clock. I had it for 3 months when an engine problem occurred. no compression in cylinder 1. That was December 2021 with 106 000 on the clock. I took it to Mercedes Benz Culemborg CT where they told me the car was at them in March 2021 with no compression in cylinder 3. After 4 months at them and R80 000 cost I got the car back with a 2 year guarantee on the repair. But in December 2022 with 126 000km on the clock again an engine problem occurred. I took it back to Culemborg and they reported that there is no compression in cylinder 2. The service advisor, Carl Brooks then told me that we should try with head office to see if they would replace the motor and assist with repair due to the fact that there was only one good cylinder left. After a four month wait with lots of promises and no feedback, no correspondence, I called non stop asking what was happening and finally got an answer to say they would not replace the engine. After nagging I got a quote of R220 000 for the repair!!!!!!!!!. So now I would have to spend R300 000 on repairs due to a car I bought for R600 000 for that has been with them for a period of 9 months in total. It has sat there since 5 December without any word. They have had the car parked in their workshop longer than the car has been parked in my garage. In a nutshell over a period of 36 000km, 3 cylinders have broken. This is a dud of a motor that Mercedes Benz will not stand by and washed their hands off it. I hope no one else has to deal with Mercedes Benz!
