Mercedes' Bad Service

I have a 2016 Mercedes 220 Bluetec that I had serviced regularly at Orbit Motors in the Fores**** (CT). At some point, while my car was still under a maintenance plan, it choked on hard acceleration. I deemed this to be very dangerous, as I would not be able to get out of a situation that requires accelerating. I took it back to the dealership so that they could have it resolved before the maintenance plan lapsed.

The manager insisted that there was nothing wrong, as that is what the computer said. This was despite the fact that I had taken him on a drive with me, so that he could experience himself what I was talking about. But, he still insisted that there was nothing wrong because of what the computer said. I told the service consultant that I wanted them to sort out the problem before the maintenance plan stopped. He responded that even if the maintenance plan stopped, it would be fixed, as I had raised the issue while it was still under the maintenance plan.

To keep it brief, I complained about the problem a few times. The last was now on 20 March 2023, when I took it for a service to the Claremont (CT) branch for a service. They diagnosed the problem as requiring programming, which they did and charged me for it. I paid about R14000 for the service and "fixing of the problem".

When I drove out of the dealership, my car drove well, as you would expect after a service. The only problem was that it did the same thing when I accelerated hard. There was just no vooma. I took it back, and was then told that the programming was not the problem, but rather it required R20 000 worth of work. Oh, and they were not going to refund the money that I paid for it to be fixed, nor would they offset it against the R20 000. In fact, they were even gong to charge me for doing the second test (to correct the incorrect diagnosis of the first test). It's only after I protested that they dropped the charges for the second test, but the refund was not on the table.

There's two issues over here:

1) The problem should have been fixed while the car was still under maintenance. 2) It's adding insult to injury when Mercedes wants to charge me twice for doing the same job, i.e., sorting out the choking problem.

The worst part is that now, after I took the car back to sort out the issue that I originally took it in for, it actually drives much worse than when I initially took it in. Now, I struggle to pull away. This is extremely dangerous when I have to enter a busy road from a side street.
