*********** Mechanics, No Customer Service Levels and Rework

This bramch in roodepoort took 3 weeks to do a 3 day job on my freightliner.They told me it will take 3 days to repair when i brought it in and after they quoted R41k. Its was in to drain and clean diesel tanks, replace front engine cover opening hydraulic arm, replace the diesel tank lids, replace locking mechanisms on both doors and window mechanisms, replace propshaft cap*****s and 1 shock. Well as i said i got truck bac 3 weeks later after about 10 calls a day to findout what happening with my truck.Everytime I called i was told by service consultants that the truck is not their responsibilty as the person who was dealing with truck innitially when it came in had resigned 3 days later. So everytime.i called to ask about update om truck i was passed frm 1 person to another and then always ended up speaking to wrkshop manager. After 3 weeks of screaming over the fone everyday i finally got truck bac and when driver was handed over keys he was told by service consultant named Tebiso that they are aware thats not all the issues were repaired yet and that theybwill call me to discuss further. . .i.never received any such call.ornhad any such discussion to date . .i.e. doors and window mechanisms were still faulty . .this was after we paid the R41k to them.2 Days later afyer truck was handed back i told driver to take truck back to Sandown wrkshop becos its a safety hazard if doors and windows dont work.They sorted the doors out on the spot but not the windows . . .and handed the truck bac to me.Now today 2 weeks after getting the truck back from them for the 2nd time . . . as my driver was transporting a load with the truck the propshaft came loose and fell off while he was driving downhill.A propshaft cannot just fall off unless the mounting *****s come loose and it comes out of tje bracket. Those *****s are supposed be tightened with a high torque pneumatic tool sontheu dont come loose becos propshaft is critical part of truck. Keep in mind that part of the wrk done on truck at Sandown. . .they replaced the proshaft cap*****s. Which means they didnt tighten the newly replaced *****s and this has caused the shaft to become more and more loose while driving the truck over the past 2 weeks until it finally fell off. Luckily the truck was not involved in an accident and nobody got injured when propshaft fell off. Thanks to Sandown Motors Rdprt and Merc Sa for not monitoring their branches service levels for quality and technical compentency related to repair processes now my truck is stuck on side of the road in the dark with my Clients product still on it.The load cannot be delivered becos truck cannot be driven with propshaft loose and hanging off which means im loosing out on business income and potentially my Client and their future business. There is no other logical or technical explanation for the propshaft coming out other than those bolts that were replaced were not tightened by the mechanics when they replaced them at Sandown Motors Rdrpt. I have the quote and invoice which included the scope of work from jobcard that shows they were last people to do any work on the propshaft . .i.e. replace new cap*****s on propshaft. Mercedes Bemz is supposed to be a premium brand. . .thats y i took my truck to 1 of their service centres expecting that their standards are high in terms of Customer Service and Technical Compentency. . . The way i was soooo wrong to think that. . .i regret the day i took it there and will never advise anybody to evr evr evr take ur truck or bus to this place.They havent got any clue of what Customer Service is and their technical and quality standards are extremely poor (if they even have any at all) based on the fact that i had to go back to fix stuff that they were already supposed to have fixed and now again becos of their incompetence this serious incident happend which caused damage to my propshaft that came loose while driving. Im sure a company like TATA can even deliver better services to the commercial vehicle industry than MerC SA and Sandown Motors. Pathetic Pathetic . . .stay away truck owners. . . MERC SA and Sandown Motors SA should actually rather just close down themselves than to deliver such poor service.No Quality Standards at all either. URL NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD. THIS IS THE 2ND FORMAL CUSTOMER COMPLAINT ABOUT SAME COMPANY WHICH I MADE TO MERC SA in 2 Weeks.Guess what. . . Nobody even contacted me from Merc SA or Sandown Motors Rdprt to ff up on the complaints. . .****ty Shoddy Work is all they can do. Merc SA url should be ashamed to be associated with the likes of Sandown Motors Rdprt and the services they provide to the industry.
