*********** Dealership

On the Friday the 24-06-2017, I took my vehicle to Mercedes Benz Sandown ( on Rivonia Road ), because the vehicle engine warning light came on and there were some mis-firing from the engine.

The Service advisor, Derrick Kluyts.

After numerous calls to him and eventually around 14h00, I have to ask a work colleague to take me from the JHB CBD, to Sandown.

The Service advisor advised that the technician could not find any fault and is driving the vehicle around to establish some fault.

Because the technician took so long to come back to the workshop I informed Derrick, that I rather go home, and that he must let me know what is the way forward from there.

I did not receive any feedback nor any calls from Derrick, and after numerous calls to his number ********** .

At around 16h00 I eventually got hold of him, and was informed that they have located the fault and that it was the Airflow Meter, which is faulty, and that the cost the the aforesaid part is around R 6000.00, and that they have to order the part from Mercedes Benz Rosebank.

The go-ahead was given immediately, and I was told that the vehicle won't be ready for me, for the weekend.

On Monday at around at 14h00, after numerous calls to Derrick, I left work, in the JHB CBD, and went to Sandown to collect my vehicle, and was inform that they replaced the part and everything is fine. I was informed that the Airflow Meter was replaced and that they swapped the 2nd spark-plug around and should not have any problems, and if I do they will swap the 2nd spark-plug back to the original position.

The cost of replacing the Airflow Meter came to R 8 568.50

Tuesday after, while back home the engine warning came on, and on Wednesday the 28-06-2017, I took the car back to Mercedes Benz, and inform Derrick about the problem.

The Wednesday after numerous calls, with no replies, i took the trip back to Mercedes Benz. There I was informed by Derrick that the problem is the manifold and the ignition coil nad I have to replace it, with a cost of R 27 086.00. I ask the question that they have change the Airflow Meter which was NOT the problem, and I have to pay for the additional cost, which they could not diagnose in the beginning.

The question which I ask agian why was the diagnose to replace the Airflow Meter which was not the problem, and I was told by derrick, Airflow Meters are replaced ever 75 000km.

I problem with Mercedes Benz is that they are unprofessional and ***********, and cost customers a lot of money.
