Forced into overdraft twice for a fully paid account

I bought a Merc in 2014 and settled the account with the financers – Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) in May 2016. Proof of payment was duly sent to them via email the same day the transaction was done. Despite this, my account was debited for the month of May thus forcing me into overdraft due to their oversight.
I requested a consultant from the Fores**** Dealership, to whom the settlement amount was emailed, to request MBFS to reverse the payment and that they mail/courier the original change of ownership documents to me.
I called MBFS on the 20th of June as nothing was forthcoming from them, no acknowledgement of payment nor receipt of docs. I was told that even though the settlement amount reflected in my account, same was still active which made no sense. The consultant assured me that all would be rectified and that the docs would be sent to me and the money reimbursed. She even sent EDocs to two of my active email addresses.
Instead of getting the docs, I was called 3 days later to resubmit proof of payment despite the monies reflecting in the account as mentioned and as confirmed by them. I duly resent said proof via email. To my surprise, my account was debited again for June once again forcing me into overdraft because of their incompetence and don’t care attitude.
I called again to enquire why that was the case and was informed that the account was still active, a month and several days after settling the account. This sophisticated company or so one would think, is seemingly punishing me for being a good and loyal customer, this, at a time when other people are struggling to meet their financial obligations.
I want MBFS to pay back the money immediately and offer a formal apology for the inconvenience caused as dealing with them has proven to be a very expensive and frustrating experience.
