Do not take your cars to Grand Central Motors

I took my car in for a minor service and the technician who was working on my car damaged the ECU Connector, I only realized it a week later. I took photos and sent them to the manager and the service advisor who booked my car in and I offered to take my car in so they can inspect it themselves, they accused me of taking my car to a ***** place where it was damaged and maybe I'm trying to take a chance, the manager was very condescending and refused to take responsibility.

THE RESPONSE !!! Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz Customer Service. Kindly find the response to the case on the 17 October 2019 by Pako Molefe:“Please be advised that after our investigations obtained with the dealership (Grand Central), ( what/which investigations) it has been advised that when the vehicle was at the dealership it was advised to Mr. Macheka on the findings (what were the findings because we have no idea what findings you are talking about) upon the inspection that was conducted (what inspection and what was the conclusion), therefore it is our submission that the vehicle suffered damage (HELLO, HENCE MY COMPLAINT) which did not fall within warranty parameters (even if the vehicle was still within the maintenance plan) as there were visible elements that can only occur in the case of an event related to external influences. (PLEASE EXPLAIN THESE EXTERNAL INFLUENCES THAT YOU ARE GOING ON ABOUT, YOUR TECHNICIAN DAMAGED MY CAR WHEN IT WAS BOOKED AT YOUR DEALERSHIP). It must be noted that we were also provided with a report on the additional faults that required your authorization which was not granted. (YES, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE OTHER FAULTS, RIGHT NOW I NEED TO KNOW WHY THEY DID NOT PICK UP THIS "EXTERNAL INFLUENCE FAULT" WHEN THEY WERE QUOTING ALL THE OTHER ISSUES? With the above mentioned, Mercedes Benz South Africa Limited along with the dealership will not be liable for the ECU connector replacement. We are aware that this is not the response you would have hoped to receive, but trust that this one incident will not put your perspective of the Brand in a poor light and that moving forward your faith will be restored within the Brand and service delivery promised from Mercedes-Benz.”We trust in having your understanding with regard to the above wish to assure you of our continued support and commitment to customer satisfaction. (THAT IS UTTER BULL) Yours sincerely Eunice Sibiya Customer Service

What closing letter? What external influences? I have asked before for the report findings, but I have up to now received nothing. Your technician at Grand Central damaged my car and this is your response?

The workshop manager at Grand Central is shifting the blame to Mercedes Sandton were it was serviced previously, but the car was damaged at your dealership by your technician and you tell me its an external influence...and you are not responsible......what the **** is that? I need my car to be in the same condition as it was when I brought it to you. I refuse to let this go, I'm taking this further. If a car comes to your dealership and is damaged in your dealership, by one of your *********** technicians it is your responsibility to fix it. I want to see that report and how you came to the conclusion that the damage did not happen at your dealership. I have presented photos and brought the car in and even a blind person can see that the damage is recent.
