<p>Complains – Mercedes-Benz GLC 250D 8 May 2017</p> <p>I bought the vehicle in February 2016 and had excellent service from De Wit motors in Ermelo.</p> <p>The vehicle incorporates a lot of great features; classy design, great looking interior except for the</p> <p>‘Tablet’ style screen stuck in the middle of the dash, which looks tacky and classless. But this vehicle</p> <p>has SEVERE driving flaws. On smooth roads, with two people and at 120km/h, it drives and handles</p> <p>fine, but…</p> <p>I complained from day one about a ‘squeaking’ noise in the front suspension and after the first</p> <p>service, June 2016 the ‘squeaking’ noise became a ‘knocking’ noise in the front suspension and the</p> <p>rear suspension feels like if there is no suspension, as it doesn’t absorbed any shock especially</p> <p>loaded and with four people in the vehicle. It feels like you are going to lose control of the car.</p> <p>After four services, and all four shocks being replaced, the situation is still exactly the same:</p> <p> The front suspension, the ride can be quite sharp over bridge-joints and uneven road</p> <p>surfaces, a lumpy highway will highlight the GLC’s generally firm suspension.</p> <p> The rigid rear suspension doesn’t absorbed any shock, especially when loaded and we know</p> <p>that driving dynamics aren’t a high priority in this segment but M/Benz would probably do</p> <p>better to chase ride comfort over handling.</p> <p>Not sure if 19-inch wheels with taller-side walled tyres, having a little extra tyre compliance, will</p> <p>takes some of the bite out of the GLC’s ride.
