Car smelling of petrol as if leaking somewhere and local dealership is of NO help

I am writing this on behalf of my mother and as someone who was considering buying a Mercedes Benz.

I am extremely disappointed and appalled by the service received by mother at one of your dealerships. A few months ago my mother too the car in for a repair as it gave some sort of warning that windscreen washer needed to be fixed. We took the car in to McCarthy Inyanga in Empangeni to get the car fixed. That issue was sorted out.

However, since that day, the car has been smelling like petrol whenever you drive it. The smell is so strong that you can smell it from inside the car. You can even smell it even in the morning when you walk into the garage in the morning.

My mom has taken the car in countless times to get the issue fixed and has been sent from pillar to post with no resolution of the issue. The foreman at some stage told my mother that the job would be too big and the needed technicians weren't around because of COVID lockdown etc and that they will call my mother back. This was 3 moths ago and nothing has happened since....

We would really like assistance on this. This issue is very concerning and my mother fears for her life as she doesn't know whether the fuel smell could be an indicator of danger. As it stands she has stopped using the car.

The car is due for a major service next week and we fear the car will come back with even more problems as we have lost trust in this particular dealership. Please assist.
