Brand new Mercedes gets a breakdown after taking it for 1St service, and another breakdown again after taking it for 2nd service...
I bought a brand new 2016 A200 Mercedes last year April. It then went for 1st servive at Polokwane Mercurius in October 2016.Towards the end of November while driving it,smoke just started coming out of the exhausts.I then stopped to check as to what was happening, opened the bonnet then fire just came out from the bonnet.I then threw sand to stop the fire.I called the Mercedes technician to explain what had happened and he called a tour truck which took the car to Mercedes Polokwane. After assessments were done on the car,I was told that it was not a mechanical fault, that some metal might have gotten into the car and damaged it while I was driving.I was told that the warranty wouldnt cover for the demage since this was recognised as an unknown accident.I then received a call from Royal Autobody Plk who said they got my numbers from Polokwane Mercedes. The lady explained that they are Certified Mercedes Repairers and that she wanted to take the car in for repairs.I told her I was still communicating with my insurance. My insurance agreed to pay for the demage and the car was fixed at Royal Autobody Plk.The day I collected,I got home and my dad decided to check the bonnet to see if all was on order. He discovered that the lid for the oil compartment was not there.I then had to drive back to Royal Autobody to find out as to where it was.Only then they said they forgot to close it and the guy when to fetch the lid. This year in August I decided to take the car to Mercedes at Tzaneen considering what had happened to me in Plk.After service I was told that the batery on the car was not a Mercedes batery and that I should find out from Royal Autobody as to why they did not fit a Mercedes batery.I called them and the lady said it was not possible that the battery is not Mercedes batery. I explained that I was told by the service dept in Tzaneen. She told me that my insurance authorised that batery, that I should take it up with them.My insurance then confirmed that they paid for a Mercedes batery. On the 5th October while driving to Plk,I got a message displaying Top Up Coolant.I stopped at the nearest petrol station and filled it up.It repopted again after driving about 15 minutes that I shuld top it up again.I stopiped at the next petrol station and discovered that the coolant was leaking. All that anti freeze was out and nothing was left inside the coolant container. I could not drive it further.I called Mercedes and was that they would send out a tour truck. They said the car should go to the nearest Merceded Dealership which is Polokwane.I told them that I have a bad experience with Plk and would prefer the car to go Tzaneen.I was told that it's Mercedes policy,if I want the car to go to Tzaneen I should pay extra cost for delivery to cover the difference.I pleaded for special preferance due what had happened in Plk.They toured it to Tzaneen but didn't say anything about the extra cost.Today I received a call from Royal Autobody saying they can't find the information for the person who authoraised the batery and that they will order me a new Mercedes batery.Tzaneen also called to say the radiator was leaking so they replaced it.My problem is I no longer feel safe to drive it because I'm not sure what else will break.I'm suspecting that they might have damaged the car at 1 st service or Royal Autobody messed the car up when they were fixing it.I'm even afraid to drive long distances now.I'm driving a new car but it's giving me problems as if it's some old sekokoro. What do I do in this case?I honestly feel Mercedes should give me a new car.Pls help...
