Brand new Mercedes Benz GLC 220d - No Spare Wheel

Dear Hellopeter, I bought a brand new Mercedes Benz GLC 220d in 2016 at Constantia Kloof Mercedes Benz. A few days after picking up the car, I discovered that there was no spare wheel. I ask the salesperson and he told me that there was no spare wheel because the car had run flat tyres. Fast forward 3 weeks ago, I visited Tyre Mart to buy new run flat tyres but was told that the tyres on my car are NOT run flat. The sales manager at Mercedes Benz Constantia Kloof agrees but says he can supply me with a spare wheel but I must pay for it! Have standards deteriorated to such an extent that new cars are not supp**** with spare wheels or are they just trying to take advantage of me?
