Brand new Merc fails and customer is responsible
My brand new year old A200 mercedes fails in the middle of the road. I have it towed. Mercedes Century City waits two days to contact me, when they do they tell me clutch has to be replaced, it looks like negligence so I am responsible for the bill. Car is still under warranty. I have my insurance tow my car to my dealership of choice. Mercedes Paarl. They inform me reports have to be sent to Germany. Now its evident Mercedes Benz wants me to pay for the R35000 as they say its my fault clutch is damaged. Firstly my car is under warranty, its a brand new car with 30 000kms. Ive driven a manual car for 15 years. My previous car BMW was also manual and I traded it at Merc with 110 000 kms and no clutch problem. My driving style has not changed. I am the only driver of my car. I bought this car because I thought its a safe car and if any problems its a brand new one. I am horrified. I was left stranded on my way to my doctor. Then Century City failed to get back to me still after complaints, no feedback. And after everything they expect me to pay for a products repairs that was obviously faulty to begin with. I am disappointed.
