Marcedes-Benz Bryanston
I took my car for service at this branch on the 28th February as the car was indicating that my final maintenance plan was due and unfortunately it was expiring the following 2 weeks from that date of service. The service advisor knew that he needed to change everything that needed to be replaced, but they deliberately made sure they don't change my break pads, as He claimed there was still 30% left on the AND the caution light was still NOT showing. So I left and assumed indeed he was correct. 4 weeks later my breaks warning light is still OFF and my breaks are 110% finished as I can hear the steel to steel sound when I apply breaks. I then phone the branch three days ago (23rd May 2022) a Service Supervisor indicated to me on the telephone that the light will only show @ 95% finished. To Date I am sure these are 120% finished, and he advised me the the Mercedes Benz Motorplan ONLY allows them to change breaks if & only if the owner has completed over 20,000km in-between breaks .... then I told him, I bought this car in October 2021 (Second hand) strangely he indicated that doesn't matter who the previous owner was, but rather The Plan focuses on the 20k in between, of course I don't know how the previous owner's driving patterns affected this car. I can simply tell any person, if you take your car to these guys make sure you know your legal rights in respect of your motor-plan or else they don't really care. He was even suggesting I bring it in for assessment, if I refuse to do the breaks with them after diagnosis, I will be charged R1,200.00.
