DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM MERCEDES BENZ MALMESBURY Good afternoon, I bought a second hand Mercedes Benz C*** model from Mercedes Benz Malmesbury in february 2024. The car started giving me problems in March 2024, The engine light went on and it broke down on the highway and was towed to the nearest Mercedes Benz in Shelly beach , Margate in KZN. The report came back stating the car had a misfire which was cleared. I was advised to take the car in for further inspection, I took it to the Mercedes Benz dealership in Umhlanga where the guy advised that since there is no code on the dashboard, it would be impossible to determine what caused the misfire. I would have to drive around until the engine light comes back on and then they would be able to diagnose the car. The car would start vibrating out of nowhere and lose power to the point that I would have to pull over and wait 5 minutes and restart the car and drive below 50km/h to reach my destination. I took the car to other qualified and registered mechanics who specialise in Mercedes Benz as I did not trust Mercedes as they charged me R2000 and did not specify what the issue was. The mechanics also could not pick up any issues, however to this day the car vibrates and loses power, there was an incident where we were driving to the Eastern Cape and it had power loss in steady traffic to the point that we had to swerve to the side because there was Truck coming. I e-mailed Molaetsi Mfundisi | F&I Business Manager to query about insurance for such instances to which she ofcourse ignored it. I am currently still experiencing power loss with that car and have exhausted all my options. I am of the opinion that the dealership sold me a lemon, I do not claim to be a Mechanic or know anything about cars, but that car gets stuck on one gear and refuses to change down or up and it just stops in the middle of the road and I have to pull over and wait 5 minutes and restart the car. I am of the opinion that that car was possibly in an accident which was not disclosed to me.
