Quality of Motor Technicians @ Mercedes East Rand Below Par

Technicians:

In terms of your technicians; I am really starting to doubt the quality and level of their expertise.

To be honest as a customer we have no grounds to stand on whenever we bring our vehicles in for a service and immediately after that, other components starting having issues.

We have no proof on our side that some of the components that are not working after a service may have been caused by your technicians themselves.

We just have to accept and cough up more money to have parts repaired.

Typical example is this morning:

I had to bring the vehicle back again after paying R10k yesterday to have the power steering issue resolved (R20K in 3 weeks).

There was a tapping noise coming from the engine and I drove the car back and your technicians had a look and determined, there was a pipe that was not making proper connection hence the tapping noise.

The point here is that I took my car for a major service R10K, at that time there was nothing wrong with the power steering.

It came back suddenly power steering issue.

The only explanation we get is, “the high pressure pipe can give in any time even few days after a car comes back from a major A service”.

The very next day (today) this loud tapping noise; who knows could have led to bigger problems later.

At the end of the day we as customers are told this or that is the problem and there will never be an acknowledgement on the dealer side that maybe some of the issues could have been caused by your technicians themselves.

The tapping noise wasn’t there before the car went it for the power steering to be repaired. It took 10minutes this morning and this was resolved.

At the end of the day we have to accept whatever information we receive from your technicians.
