Pitfalls of purchasing a Mercedes Benz from Century City with a "warranty"

Our 2nd Mercedes from Century City. The "sunglasses holder" clip broke. R8800 to replace it. The service advisor said that others had also experienced the same problem. Surely Mercedes Benz has an obligation to guarantee their buy outs? Thinking twice on our next purchase.
