I recently had such a disappointing experience with Aston from Mend a pool. He started work at my house in March 2023 and took until Sep 2023 to complete the pool. It was an unnecessary long time and I was very frustrated with the slow progress. Most days he would drop off just one worker for the whole day. He quoted us to do the pool area, paving and fireplace. He then charged us extra for building another step due to the paving being higher but surely that should have been part of the quote. He also charged us for extras so the job cost way more than what he quoted us. Now 6 months after the completion of the pool the marbelite has started coming loose in one area. I messaged him today as I am very concerned about the fact that the pool is only 6 months old and the marbelite is coming loose. He was so abrupt and rude to me and told me the damage is from a pool floater and I must claim the damage from the pool floating company. I was very shocked at his reaction because he did not even have the decency to come and look and analyse the damage. He just readily blamed it on something else and did not even bother to come and see if maybe there was bad workmanship. I am still so surprised at his reaction towards me. He was defensive and accusing. I mentioned to him numerous times that the damage is on the step and the floater did not go anywhere on the step but he totally ignored that, just carried on denying that it was not his workmanship. So now I have a pool that is not even a year old and cost us a fortune to build and now I have to get someone else in to fix it. This is so wrong by all accounts that Aston does not take responsibility for this.

So just to summarise how rediculous this is. Our pool is 6 months old!!!!! How can the use of Chlorine already have damaged a 6 month old pool. The only explanation I have is that inferior products were used or the laying of the Marbelite was done incorrectly. And the fact that Aston did not even bother to come and look tells me that he knows his workmanship was weak. End of story.

It is with great disappointment that you feel that you have received bad service from my company. What i would rather prefer to do is submit facts about your claims against me and my company.
Lets start about your claim that I only completed your project in September 2023. This is false as an email was sent to you and your husband on Monday June 19 2023 at 13H37 advising you that the final installation of the Db board had been conducted and that now the project was complete. A further quote was submitted to apply sealant to the project which was an addition beyond the original project and was done in a timeous manner Your final payment to us was on 19 June 2023. So your claims are baseless lies about the completion of the project and I have the evidence to support it.
Next fact. You submitted a photo of the damage to your marbalite surface on a step area which is 400mm deep that had evidence that the marbalite had suffered damage from massive chlorine introduced to the surface. Your pool was marbalited in sky blue marbalite which is highly susceptible to staining from chlorine. you admitted to using a floating chlorine dispenser for two weeks. Upon handover i clearly warned you not to use these devices as they are very invasive on colored marbalite surfaces. In the photo you provided i saw severely damaged marbalite introduced by a chlorine floating dispenser. The evidence in the photo shows marbalite heavily corroded to a bleached ***ment indicating that the marbalite has been corroded, not flaking or delaminating. Due to the fact that most chlorine dispensers don't exceed 300mm in length, they have the top air section that keep the device floating with inly 200 mm of the device staying under water. This means that the device definitely had opportunity to travel over the step and cause severe damage to the marbalite.. Stating that the device never went on top of the step are once again lies. Did you keep your eyes on it non stop for two weeks constantly. i doubt that.
With regard to you claiming that we used inferior products completely insults my suppliers whom have high quality product that they sell and pride themselves in fresh produce. These accusation's seriously impact my suppliers and you could be held responsible for insulting them., Be careful Lynn for what you say.
Next fact. I never ever said to you that i would not come look at your pool. Nor did I ever say that I refuse to inspect it.. What i did say over Whattsapp is that i can come look, however my opinion on is still that you had ruined your marbalite surface and that my response would still be same. You disregarded my free advice not to use chlorine floaters and still went ahead to introduce them with your own hands.
Next fact. No persons from Mend-A-Pool ever introduced chemicals to your pool. We cannot be held responsible for the actions of our clients do.
Next fact. You have lambasted me and my company on several platforms and I dont appreciate that. I have received screen grabs from my clients on your Robindale whatssapp group and they are shocked in your behavior. They are long standing clients that love working with me and cannot believe that i let a client down.
Your abrupt behavior to instantly shame me and my company on social media is considered to myself as ************** of character which is against the law.
