Unfriendly receptionist

I made an appointment about a month ago, to see Dr Patel. As I did not receive an sms confirming my appointment I called today to confirm my appointment date. Unfortunately I spoke to the most unfriendly receptionist. This is the face of your business and this girl sounds miserable. She informed me that I needed an authorization number in order to see the Dr. As I have many years with my present medical aid, I knew that this was not right and called Discovery to make sure. As I am not being admitted to hospital an authorisation number is not needed. But what angers me mostly, is that it felt like I was being interrogated by the receptionist. It is a gynae appointment and why should I explain to the receptionist why I need to visit the dr. My appointment with Dr Patel is the 11th of Feb, but I already with a bad taste in my mouth.
