Shocking service

Arrived at emergency as my doctor was not available on Saturday with a cough and was worried it would go to my chest as I am asthmatic. I was taken to a bed where I sat for about 30 minutes before I heard the two doctors at the desk and then sat for another 30 minutes listening to them laughing, flirting and having some loud banter. I eventually went out and asked when I would be seen and the Doctor said "in a couple of minutes". A female doctor asked me why I was there and explained my grand daughter had bronchitis and I was baby sitting her and obviously caught something. She listened to my breathing and then said I am going to order ECG, x-rays, full blood count and COVID tests. I can understand the COVID test which I was willing to take but I said none of the others were necessary I know my symptoms I get this seasonally and when I look after my grand daughter. She said 'I understand but we must do it" I told her no less than 3 times that I do not want them and then on the 4th time she got sarcastic and put her hands together and said "I know you do not want this, but it is hospital protocol". I waited another 30 minutes and a male nurse came through and I said I want to leave and will not have the tests. He took me out from behind the curtains and told the doctor who gave me a form to complete to say I refused the tests and then she handed me a prescription (bearing in mind she had NOT examined me) and for this shocking service I was charged R1135. On the Tuesday I had to go and see my usual doctor who prescribed the correct medication and I am now starting to get better. I complained and got a call to say they were investigating and would come back to me with the results. 5 days later absolutely nothing.

I will never go there again and would certainly not recommend them to anyone. Rather drive a little further in an emergency to Constantia Clinic or Kingsbury.
