MisDiagnosed

Good day This is my 2nd bad experience at this hospital.

The 1st time, about a year or more so I was rushed into the same hospital by an ambulance where I could literally not walk because of back pain and Dr Sulaiman, spine specialist refer me to a psychiatrist without consultating with me, the Dr on duty just call him after I told her I have an appointment with him, later that day. The 1st question she me after that call is if I have funds to consult with Dr Sulaiman on my medical aid. I asked her if I will an appointment a week before without knowing the status of my medical aid funds. She said she will hospitalize me. I said if is under Dr Suilaiman she should not bother. She went ahead. In the morning I saw his name over my head, I requested to be discharge, after they called him. As I refused to be treated by him further. A few dats later a psychiatrist phoned me telling me he was referred by Dr Sulaiman, I told him did not need any help from as I have consulted with my GP and my GP did not pick up any stress symptoms. He prescribed pain medication.

Below you will find my spouse email that he wrote to melomed, I consulted with a psychothe****** before I was admitted and after, she was actually disgusted by the medical assistant I received after admission, now she referred me to a clinick. As she is wondering, what sickness can be cured by Multivutamins

Good day

I am writing this email with a great sadness and absolute dismay at the treatment that my wife received from Melomed hospital. I demand an investigation into this flagrant disregard of my spouses health by melomed hospital Tokai

BACKGROUND

On the 4 September 2024 between 20H00 -21H00 I rushed my wife to the emergency section at Tokai Melomed, where she was checked, with swiftness and the urgency it demanded. I thank them for that. A Doctor Fakier(female) attended to her, she was having severe twitching on her left side. Doctor Fakier told me that this is a result of severe stress and anxiety reaction, she will give her something to calm her down and will ask that she be referred to another facility to help her with her initial diagnosis. At no point , I repeat, at no point did she have any breathing problems. I left Vanessa at the hospital on the 4th September and I saw the name of Dr Moodley(Lung Specialist) on top of her hospital bed.

On the 6 September, Vanessa was discharged from the hospital, on the discharged form, it indicated that she was admitted with tics/twitching, and the final diagnosis was: Severe stress reaction. She was given prescription with consisted of Multi-Vitamins.

On Monday 16 September, on the medical certificate, it indicated that she was admitted and diagnosed with Lower Respiratory Track infection. This is a clear misrepresentation. She never had any breathing problems. Vanessa has not fully recovered from the symptoms that she went into the hospital with. Wrong Diagnosis equals wrong medication. This might be a case of medical malpractice, Vanessa has not recovered fully from this. Lower Respiratory Track Infection, there was never such. A lung specialist treating a patient with a mental health issue. How?

I want to know:

How is a Dr assigned to a patient? Why was a Lung specialist assigned to Vanessa. A lung specialist to treat a patient with Mental health issue What is the recourse for us

Vanessa got discharged from the hospital, there was clearly no referral to another facility or specialist as was alluded to by Dr Fakier when she admitted Vanessa into the facility on the 6 September. Why, did that not happen?

Money has been claimed from my Medical Aid for a wrong service. My wife is still sick, even after going to hospital and paying Doctors. What recourse is there?
