Melowmed Bellville hospital might as well be a government hospital. I have no problem with the specialist that treated my, in fact I will make use of the doctor again in another group. Had a booking for Wednesday 24th July. My wife dropped me and I went to reception where I was told I had to wait as there was no bed available. Was lying in ICU when little shop of horrors started. There is bubble gum stuck on the bottom of desks. Air-conditioning is switched to 30° and you're sweating like no other. My kitchen is cleaner than the ICU. Staff walking in the Ilse with cellphone in hand busy with conversations and chewing. Day 4 and it's a fight for survival. They advertise that YOU must exercise silence. ICU seems to be a circus of noise and jokes. Had a big piece of my colon removed. Each bed had an assistant or nurse, assigned as pasient movement is limited due to severety of illness. I had get upset as people just walked past you as if you don't exist. Then the bed got jammed in a awkward position. They told me they logged a call with maintenance like I'm some PC. Apart from the specialists working there I'd advise to stay away. If I was a government patient I would understand, but this is not worth the money I pay for a medical aid. I wish there was an option where I could post some of the images I took.
